Poppin’ Shit

“Pray for him, cause some fools just love to perform
You know the type loud as a motor bike
But wouldn’t bust a grape in a fruit fight” – Jay Z, 99 Problems

I love all these couch riders, armchair quarterbacks, backseat drivers or whatever you want to call people who seem to only excel at flapping their gums. People who talk shit, or pop shit, need to be careful because usually it ends up on your face. I guess it is easier to hate on others than it is to handle your own business. Well if that is how you are going to spend your time then at least put a little effort in your game first. Get your shit half-way together then commence with the hot air storm.

Realize though that what we put out comes back 100 fold. Be prepared for your neigh sayers for they will come. When they do and your world is in a tizzy and before you ask why they are “hatin’ on me”, think back to all those you criticized to elevate yourself. Feel their pain wash over you as you become the focus of someone else’s ire.

Apple Lessons 1

We can learn a great deal about the pursuit of excellence from Apple. Under Steve Jobs direction Apple has been able to show what can be accomplished when you make quality, desirability, and innovation the cornerstone of your business. Apple products have an allure that tech products typically do not have. A sexiness in form and design that is often lacking in what can be best described as simple machines. Simple in their commonness and purpose.

This same thoughtfulness and attention to excellence can be equally applied to ourselves. If we were to look at ourselves as a product that is being offered to the public what would the reviews say about us? Although some reviews would focus solely on our outward appearance what I am referring to is what lies beneath. The unseen. Would people wait on line for days just to be in our company? Would we be so magnetic that our friends would be clamoring with excitement to hear our latest news? Would they forgo spending time with others to be in our presence? This may sound far fetched but just what are you offering the world around you? What kind of product are you?

Our existence is not static. At any time we are capable of assessing our position in the market and coming up with a strategy to provide a quality product that is desirable and innovative.
